Why Vaginarts?


"Why do something like Vaginarts?" That's a question we sometimes get. And with that question comes a ton of other questions. Here you can read our statement and what we want with this website. If you have any questions or thoughts that you want to ask/discuss - feel free to contact us!
Our point of view

Vaginarts is about the Cunt. In Swedish the equivalent to Cunt is ”fitta”, and while reading our texts and looking at our art you will sometimes see this magical Swedish word. We look at the Cunt with respect. We see the Cunt as something beautiful, magical, vibrant, vivid, erotic, sensual, fantastic, warm, wet, enjoyable, yes we even have a religious aspect of the Cunt. The Cunt represents the female. The Cunt represents the Goddess. The Cunt represents life, the will to live and to give life. And the most important - the Cunt is something that about half of the world inhabitants have between their legs - in other words, its something totally natural and common.

Our visitors are both women and men - of course. But our target group is first of all female - which you probably will notice in our texts. But if you are a man, there is probably a lot to enjoy, learn or to give you something to think about. Art and texts about the male is also important but not here.

At Vaginarts we hope that you find our artwork interesting, beautiful, imaginative, life embracing, exciting and texts that can give you a ”wow, that's the way it is”-feeling, and support for the feeling: you have the right to be exactly the person you are.

We also invite you to participate and/or contribute to Vaginarts. Let us hear from you!


Take place in your life - accept yourself!


Many women have learned that their body in general and their cunts in particular are ugly, they have learned to connect sexuality to shame, sin and guilt. That's wrong! You shouldn't feel shame in relation to your cunt or to your sexuality - dare to be proud of yourself, your sexuality, your beautiful cunt and to say yes to yourself!

The reason why so many has so strong negative emotions about themselves is that we have grown up in a society where female sexuality is considered as dangerous and subversive, and for that reason has been hanged out on a totem of shame. If you listen carefully to your inner voice you will notice that behind these condemnations of women, her sex and her sexuality, is hidden a ”clean” being that intuitively feels that all this are just others values that has been put on us.

Our inner core, our essence, doesn't judge others. We are accepting beings at the core. Understand that we have inherited these values. We had it imbibed with our mother's milk and then it went on, with our parents, school, stories, myths, media, society and religion.
It's so evident when it comes to religion, especially in Christianity, Judaism and Islam. From them we got a message that is imbibed with sin, shame, suffering, ascetics, self denial, guilt and punishment - and it was a woman that was blamed for the fact that the first human beings where forced out of Paradise. The punishment for Eve - and every woman - was menstruation and to suffer when giving birth.

Vaginarts is as far away from that ”truth” and that belief as possible.
One of our strongest messages to all women is:
- You have the right to be yourself! You have the right to live your potential, your body is wonderful, your cunt is beautiful and you have the right to be sexual a sexual being.

With Vaginarts we want to make a contribution. A contribution to increase the respect of women, their sex and sexuality, and to spread knowledge in a lustful manner, beyond clinical and medical aspects.


Vaginarts is developing.

Vaginarts consists of vaginart and of text. Sudharm has, with the help of women, a digital camera, a computer, fantasy and the joy of creating, created the pictures. Would you like to model or contribute with your own artwork - let us hear from you. In the future we will have a guest-gallery where you will have the opportunity to show your own vagina-art.
It's mostly Nirmala who has made magic with words (and who is thankful to Dorinda, who has checked some of her English…) and has contributed by deepening and widening the life embracing message that Sudharm started transmitting when the first version of Vaginarts met the world in 2000. If you have any ideas about texts (your own experiences, ideas, interesting knowledge, etc…) - let us hear from you.

Until 2004 there was to versions of Vaginarts. A Swedish version with art and texts. An English version with art.
This new version of Vaginarts offers more. Now there is a ”full” English version. You can send postcards, chat and communicate direct with us at Vaginarts. And we are open to your suggestions and contributions.
We have received many questions about the possibility to buy prints from Vaginarts - and in response to that we will open a “Vagina-shop” during the summer of 2005.

Since Vaginarts started we have received many positive reactions, especially from women. It's also common that women ask their partners to take a close look at Vaginarts… Your reactions feel great and are really helpful to us.



Our perspective

Vaginarts perspective is pleasure, enjoyment and respect towards the woman's sex and the lust for it. Vaginarts is for you who are a woman who wants help, support, inspiration and ideas in your personal development in relation to yourself, your body, your cunt and your sexuality. Or you are a man or a woman who has a relation to your partners or somebody else's cunt. Or you're just curious. Anyhow:
