| In our western culture rules the idea that the pussy is something dirty and something that just ”is” there. It's nothing to notice. And if the pussy is acknowledged, it's often among women who talk about ”female problems”. The pussy is often associated to pornography and is judged for that. Or you whisper about something ”down there” and you don't even mention what it is. Conversations about the pussy are seldom associated to pleasure an enjoyment. They are more characterized by feelings of guilt and shame. Most people will not speak about the pussy at all. A woman's period blood is seen as so unclean that its colored blue in advertisement. The word worship may make you think about missionaries and explorers who describe natives who are inferior to us and their barbaric and heathen rituals. Or worship may be something we did in Scandinavia a thousand years (before we became Christians.) |

The combination of the words vagina and worship makes people raise their eyebrows. But taste the word vagina worship. Vagina worship. Vagina worship. Vagina worship. To us it represents something important and beautiful. The starting point for our Christian western culture is that there is One Truth and One God that we shall believe in. To offer an alternative that is unusual and provocative can be difficult to deal with. But why should it be more right to worship a crucified man with a jealous and invisible father in Heaven, than to worship the place were we all met life? When we look in the world around us, we can state that the figure on the cross and his dad haven't really succeeded in creating a Paradise on Earth. |
| And which Swedish person thinks that our modern rituals are strange? During the Midsummer feast, we are jumping around the midsummer pole like frogs in an old childrens dance. Try to explain the Swedish midsummer celebration to an American or a Chinese… That will indeed be difficult. During midsummer we eat, drink and dance around a huge phallus symbol, and in one of the dances we are jumping like frogs - and no one thinks that's strange… We don't think that vagina worship is stranger than many other things that we do. It's basically a question of the watchers perspective, beliefs, knowledge, attitudes and openness. The Swedish academy defines the word worship like this; worship, revere and honour. That is what vagina worship is about!
