Lifegiving bath.. It happens every month to the women. You can even hear it from its name: menstruation origins from the Latin word menses - month - and the Latin word origins from the Greek word for moon - mene. The woman goes through a life-giving "bath,” the blood floods. It is the primal sign that shows she is a woman - that she has the ability to give life.
In the old cultures, the menstrual blood was considered as something sacred - and when women were bleeding, people wanted to listen to them. There where even ideas that life itself had sprung from the Big Mothers own blood. In contrast to today, menstruation is now something that is being concealed and gives some women feelings of shame.
